Physiotherapy care carried out by a self-employed physiotherapist is covered by the health insurrance, provided that the self-employed physiotherapist is "approved" and that he applies the “General Nomenclature of Professional Acts” (NGAP). The agreement (convention) provides that the practitioner is alone with his patient for approximately 30 minutes, and approximately 20 minutes for gait rehabilitation.
Once agreed, the self-employed physiotherapist must bill for his care in accordance with the General Nomenclature of Professional Acts in order to guarantee their reimbursement. The nomenclature is a dense and complicated document which must strictly be applied, as there are frequent controls and adjustments. This is why Health Insurance has developed a "practical guide to NGAP" to help self-employed physiotherapists better understand it.
The NGAP is regularly updated, according to amendments, which we advise you to download directly from the Health Insurance website in order to avoid the risk of consulting a deprecated version.
