Level of Language Required to Practice the Profession of Physiotherapist in France

In order to be able to register on the Board of the French Physiotherapy Council and have the right to practice physiotherapy in France, physiotherapists of foreign nationality must provide a certificate of knowledge of the French language level B2 (Independent user). Without a certificate of knowledge, the practitioner will carry out a test on site, in the premises of the Council.

The TCF-B2 level allows you to check the following capabilities :

  • understand the essential content of concrete or abstract subjects in a complex text, including a technical discussion in your specialty;
  • communicate spontaneously and fluently with a native speaker;
  • express yourself in a clear and detailed manner on a wide range of subjects, express an opinion on a topical subject and explain the advantages and disadvantages of different possibilities.
